MC XC battled tough against CV and Carlisle but fell to both

In their last warm up before the Mid-Penn Championships , the MIfflin County Cross Country team hosted Cumberland Valley and Carlisle.

In the end, the MIfflin County girls and the boys competed hard but would fall in both.

“It was good to get back to racing after a two week hiatus. It turned out to be a nice day with great weather,” said MIfflin County coach Greg Loht. “I thought overall we had a little rust. Brayden Harris and Chris Royer had a good race.”

On the boys’ side, MIfflin County fell  23-34 to Cumberland Valley and 20-35 against Carlisle.

However, MIfflin County’s Brayden Harris took the top spot with a winning time of 16:30.

Rounding out the top 10 for the Huskies was Chris Royer as he posted a time of 17:55.

The girls team fell 21-40 to both CV and the Bison.

“This was a hard meet if nothing else we haven’t really started our season and the season already ends in two weeks. It’s hard mentally to get our minds wrapped around like last week we couldn’t practice at all now this week we are here race,” said MIfflin County coach Jennifer Freed said.

Kylee Cubbison also topped the charts on the girls’ side finishing with a strong 19:40.

Teammates Addie Parsons, Ava Harris and Justice Sheaffer finished third, fourth and fifth with times of 20:42, 22:11 and 24:16, respectively.
