MC XC opens season with Sweep of CD East

Finally!

After what seemed forever to get the 2020 Cross Country season started, the Huskies finally had its chance to get out the course and just compete.

All that energy proved to be good for the Huskies as they swept both the boys and girls side in their meet against CD East.

On the boys’ side, the Huskies won by a convincing 18-37 score while the girls won 23-32.

Leading the way for the group was future Temple runner, Brayden Harris with a top time of 15:52.

Chris Royal followed with a second place finish time of 17:33.

Teammates CJ Coffey and Caden Bell finished fourth and fifth with times of 18:19 and 18:20, respectively.

Kylee Cubbison continued her winning ways from last year topping out the number one spot for the girls with a time of 19:40.

Coming in third was teammate Addy Parson posting a 20:42 time while teammate Ava Harris finished with a fourth place mark of 22:11.

“I was worried going into today’s race because we are such a young team and we lack depth that we usually have. We have three girls out with injuries,” said Mifflin County girls coach Jenn Freed. “But despite the weather and all the other obstacles we had coming in. They did what they had to do. They looked amazing.”

MIfflin County will back in action Thursday against Chambersburg.
