MC15s fall in opener of World Series to New England

It was a tough first day for the Mifflin County 15-year old all-star team as they fell to New England in the first game of the 2021 Babe Ruth World Series, 4-0.

Taking the mound for Mifflin County were Ryan Hine and Landon Eichhorn.

Hine finished with two strike outs while Eichhorn had one.

Despite not being able to score a run against New England, Mifflin County had two hitters that finished with two hits each, they were Xavier Smith and teammate Trevor Sheaffer.

New England started the scoring in their first at bats, plating one.

After that, things remained relatively quiet as neither team was able to score.

In the top of the fourth New England added two more runs, upping their lead to 3-0.

New England added an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh, taking the contest 4-0.
