MCJH girls varsity tops East Penn 6-2
The Mifflin County Junior High Girls Varsity soccer teams continues its roll through its competition as it defeated East Pennsboro 6-2.
Goalie Bailey McNitt finished with three saves.
Mifflin County’s offense outshot the Panthers 14-5. It also led in corner opportunities by a 7-1 margin.
Brynn Knepp led the way offensively with a 2-goal effort.
Aubrey Strohecker notched the Huskies first goal only 57-seconds in, making it 1-0.
Knepp followed with her first goal off a Strohecker pass at 11:40 into the contest.
Just over a minute later, the two connected again, upping the score to 3-0.
Arika Henry added to the lead on an unassisted goal at the 14:57 mark.
East Penn countered with a goal from Kayla Gellotte at the 23-minute mark.
Sarah Henry was next on the scoreboard, posting an unassisted goal of her own, giving her team a 4-1 advantage.
Rounding out the scoring was Rylie Rutherford who added some adding to the Mifflin County lead while the Panthers ended its scoring with a goal from Arya Weist.
In JV action,
Mifflin County won over East Penn 1-0.
Elise Wagner posted the lone goal from teammate Alex Leonard.
