MC’s Breon advances to play Mid Penn Championships

Monday, the MIfflin County golf team had two individuals compete today at the Mid Penn qualifier at Rich Valley golf course. Evan Breon competed on the boys side, and Emma Norman competed on the girls side. In order to advance out of the qualifer on the boys side, you needed to place in the top 10 overall players. In order to advance out of the qualifer on the girls side, you needed to shoot a score of 104 or better. Any idividual who accomplished this would advance to the Mid Penn Championships on Thursday, 9/25, at Range End golf course. Evan Breon had a great day, shooting a score of 74, which placed in a tie for 3rd place overall, and will advance him to the Mid Penn Championships. He also made his first ever eagle today. Emma Norman shot a score of 106, just barely missing the cutline to advance to the Mid Penn Championships. She has already qualified for the District 6 AAA girls championships on 10/2 at Windber Country Club along with teamate Lily Breon. Evan Breon will compete again tomorrow at Sinking Valley country club, along with Jude Zook, Chase Krepps, and Caleb Bubb at District 6 AAA sectionals, which gives the boys an opportunity to earn their way into the district championships by placing in the top 10.
