Men’s Track and Field Claims Four First Place Finishes as they Hosted the Juniata Invitational

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men’s track & field team hosted the Juniata Invitational, Saturday.

 

In the javelin, Barrett Walters (Mifflintown, Pa. / Juniata HS) claimed first, marking 48.37m and Thayer Phillips (Cuddy, Pa. / South Fayette) placed fourth, marking 46.14m. In the high jump, Brenden Gardner (Muncy, Pa. / Hughesville) took first, marking 1.75m.

 

Walters tied for sixth in the discus, marking 35.72m. In the shot put, Phillips placed sixth, throwing 11.17m. In the hammer throw, Brenden Nauman (Myerstown, Pa. / ELCO) placed ninth (35.07m), while Phillips placed 13th (32.87m).

 

In the 110m hurdles, Gardner took home another first (16.32). In the 400m hurdles, Gardner claimed first coming in with a time of 57.53, and Devon Angermeier (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) finished fourth with a time of 1:02.61.

 

In the 100m, Noah Zolnak (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area HS) finished ninth with a time of 11.97. In the 200m, Zolnak finished 12th coming in with a time of 24.84. In the 3000m, Max Scott (Chestertown, Md. / The Gunston Day School) finished fifth (9:54.24) and Ellis Kline (Corvallis, Ore. / Corvallis HS) finished eighth (10:12.53).

 

In the 4x400m relay, the team of Gardner, Angermeier, Zolnak, and Scott finished fourth with a time of 3:56.52.
