MIfflin County boys fall to tough Red Lion team

It was a tough night on the court for the MIfflin County boys basketball team as they lost to Red Lion 53-27 in the Huskies season opener.

Conner Cherry was the high scorer for Mifflin County with a 10-point effort.

Red Lion’s offense got off to a sizzling start as it posted a 23-point first quarter while its defense held the Huskies to a lone basket by Cherry.

Going into the intermission, Red Lion took a 37-9 advantage.

Cherry was the leading scorer as was Tyler Metz and Cade Penepacker in the period for MC, posting two.

In the third, Cherry posted six points in the period as it was only outscored 10-8 in the period.

Defensively, MIfflin County allowed only six in the final period while its offense scored 10.

However, it was too little to late as Red Lion went onto the victory.
