It continues to be a historic year for the MIfflin County boys cross country team as Saturday they added a Gettysburg Invitational title to their list of top finishes already this season.

The Huskies picked up a win with a total of 48 points in the varsity race. They led a field of 29 teams. Carter Smith and Reese Cubbison go 1-2.

“I am really pleased with the program’s performance today. They have all been itching to get on a faster course, and today their hard work paid off in the form of many personal bests. Reese Cubbison, Wyatt Kauffman, Hart Oden, Aidan Scavetti, Logan Breneman, David Snyder, Camryn Treaster, Craig Whitenight, Anthony Palopoli, Colton Leister, and Logan Boyer all ran a PR today,” said Mifflin County coach Alex Monroe. “This was the confidence builder many needed as we head into the post season. I’d also like to highlight Colton Leister today. I’ve watched him work really hard and sometimes come up short, but he never quits. Today he got a well deserved breakthrough (over a minute PR). We return to competition next Saturday at Big Spring High School for the Mid Penn Conference Championship.”

The JV boys also had a great showing placing second.

Smith finished with a top finish of 15:16.4 while Cubbison came across next with a time of 15:41.9.
