Mifflin County girls lacrosse tops Midd-West to improve to 3-1

Saturday the MIfflin County Girls’ Lacrosse team was “on the road again” and in the process picked up another win. This time it would be against a tough Midd-West team, winning 11-4.

The team was sent to the bus twice because of downpours and large hail, both team found success!   

The Varsity secured a dominating win with newcomers stepping up in true Husky fashion.  “Draw control and loose balls controlled remain a positive for us,” said MIfflin County coach Theresa Lamont. The

Huskies continue to work on “playing with a purpose” and making split second decisions when playing in the critical scoring area!  Varsity was able to spread out the scoring attack among five players!  “Confidence in teammates is what allows this feat to be a stronghold in our program,” added Lamont. The offense got five goals from Kashia Smith. The Huskies got two each from Emma Ritchey, Mara Gallo, & Sadie Fike, and a chip in from Brenna Dobson . 

Defensive Specialists Binder, Sharp, Kammerer, and Eby took care of limiting shooting opportunities.  Goalie Mikayla Bodley had five saves.  Huskies are 3-1 and travel to CD East on Monday for a 6 pm draw.
