Mifflin County girls XC team falls to CD

The Mifflin County Cross Country Lady Huskies were defeated by Central Dauphin High School on Tuesday evening, 21-36. Despite the team loss, there were many individual victories. Half the team ran their season bests. Ava Kratzer, Madison Baumgardner, and Lizzy Massie each had personal records. “They knew it could be a close race and they ran hard,” said MIfflin County coach Neil Breneman. “I was proud of the effort they put in. The cooler temperatures were certainly a help. Every single member of the team has had season bests in one of the last three races. That means they are progressing in the right direction.”

The Huskies were led by a second place finish by Amilia Coffey (22:23).

Teammates Ava Kratzer (22:44) and Ava Wagner (23:42), finished sixth and seventh place, respectively.

Coming in ninth for the Lady Huskies was Lexi Anderson (24:32) while Madison Baumgardner (25:50) finished 12th.

“Another great team moment was watching the team spirit after the race as they cheered the boys into the finish,” said Breneman. “Usually the boys run first and they are busy warming up for their race. Tonight they reversed the order of the races which gave them a great opportunity to cheer the boys on to victory.”
