Mifflin County Huskies Fall After Strong Showing By Cedar Cliff

Mifflin County had trouble keeping up with Cedar Cliff in a 10-0 loss on Monday.

The Colts opened the scoring in the top of the second thanks to two singles. Cedar Cliff first got on the board when Luke Sowers singled, scoring one run.

A walk by Michael Boblick extended the Colts lead to 4-0 in the top of the third inning.

Blake Secrest homered to left field, scoring three runs in the top of the fourth for the Colts.

Peyton Price earned the win for Cedar Cliff. The hurler gave up four hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking none. Aidan Attivo took the loss for Mifflin County. The pitcher went three innings, giving up four runs on five hits, striking out one and walking six.

Leadoff hitter Evan Strohecker led the Huskies with two hits in two at bats.

Cedar Cliff Varsity amassed 11 hits in the game. Grant Enders, Boblick, and Secrest each collected two hits for the Colts. Boblick and Secrest each drove in three runs for Cedar Cliff. The Colts had patience at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game. Sammy Georges, Sowers, and Ian Ripple led the team with two walks each. The Colts didn’t commit a single error in the field. Bennett Secrest had the most chances in the field with seven.

Mifflin County  will conclude their double head against Cedar Cliff for their next game on Monday.
