Mifflin County JH Gettysburg Invitational Recap

Running in fields of nearly 300 in the girls’ race and 400 in the boys’ competition, the Mifflin County junior high cross country teams came away with several personal bests, a top ten individual finish, and an outstanding performance in the girls’ team standings at Saturday’s Gettysburg Invitational.

Led by Daliyah Bargas’s tenth overall place, the girls took 7th among 24 full teams, defeating several schools with three, four and five times as many athletes. Elissa Bell took 27th place, Lillen Adams was 43rd, and Maddy Yoder 53rd. Completing the field were Jakayla Colon and Adalyn Lutz, in the 135th and 137th spots, respectively.

All three Mifflin County boys set new PR’s. Levi Anderson placed 32nd, with Kenneth Swartzell close behind in 33rd place. Aiden Wible came in 155th in the crowd of 398 racers.

The junior high Huskies host their final home meet of the season Thursday when Juniata and Susquenita visit the Indian Valley Elementary Center in Reedsville.
