Miller helps puts away game in second half for SC

The first half of Thursday’s field hockey matchup between Chambersburg and State College featured a balanced back-and-forth action. State College’s Ella Tambroni scored the first goal at the 0:17 in the first quarter with an assist by veteran Hannah Garlin. Chambersburg reciprocated at 1:29 in the second quarter by a one-on-one goal by Ella Fatyol (assisted by Gracie Mellott). The half ended with a penalty corner goal at 0:00 by Lanie Herlocher (with assists by Hannah Garlin and Ella Tambroni).

State College dominated the second half led by the furious offensive efforts of Olivia Miller. State College penetrated the scoring circle on many occasions that precipitated penalty corners. In two of these instances, Miller scored unassisted goals thus putting the game out of reach for Chambersburg.

Next game State College is away at Central Dauphin on Landis Field, Tuesday September 20, Varsity 3:45 JV 5:00 PM.
