Mounties explode offensively, tops Rams 17-2

The Philipsburg-Osceola baseball team has been playing clutch baseball recently.
After defeating Bellefonte early in the week, the Mounties brought out the bats Wednesday defeating fellow Mountain League foe, Penns Valley 17-2.
Jeremy Whitehead finished the day posting 6RBIs and a double. Jake DeSimone had a triple and brought in 3RBIs.
Parker White went a perfect 3-for-3 with 3 runs and 2RBIs.
Colby Hahn picked up the win as he went four innings, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out three.
The Mounties opened the scoring in the bottom of the first.
Ben Gutsky led off with a single.
He scored on an RBI single by Parker White, making it a 1-0 contest.
With the bases loaded in the second, the Mounties had a huge 6-run second to up its lead to 7-0.
Highlighting the inning was a DeSimone triple turned a 2-0 lead to a 5-0 advantage with a triple.
Whitehead blasted a sacrifice fly to bring in DeSimone.
Philipsburg-Osceola added another run before the inning was over, making it a 7-0 lead going into the third.
Penns Valley got on the scoreboard in the third, plating one.
The Mounties added five more in the bottom of the inning, leading 12-1 as the game went into the fourth.
Still continuing to battle, the Rams added one more in the fourth.
However, that would all that the Mounties would allow as their offense rolled out a 6-run inning in the fourth, ending the contest via a 15-run inning rule.
