Mounties Grabs Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Penns Valley Area

Mounties stole the lead late in the game in a 16-11 victory over Penns Valley Area on Thursday. The game was tied at eight with Mounties batting in the top of the fifth when Jake DeSimone singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Mounties collected 11 hits and Penns Valley Area had 13 in the high-scoring affair.

Penns Valley Area got on the board in the first inning when Miller grounded out, scoring one run.

Colby Hahn toed the rubber for Mounties. The bulldog went three innings, allowing six runs on five hits and striking out one.

Houtz started the game for Penns Valley Area. The pitcher went four innings, allowing seven runs on four hits and striking out three. Brodzina and Stoverentered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.

Mounties tallied 11 hits. Parker White, Hahn, Jeremy Whitehead, and DeSimone each managed multiple hits for Mounties. DeSimone, Whitehead, Hahn, and White each collected two hits to lead Mounties. Mounties stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Nick Coudriet led the way with two.Penns Valley Area saw the ball well today, racking up 13 hits in the game. Houser, Keith, Lyons, Thompson, and Welshans all managed multiple hits for Penns Valley Area. Houser led Penns Valley Area with three hits in four at bats.
