Offense takes center stage Friday for MC girls in 80-point effort

HERSHEY – Let the scoring begin!!

The MIfflin County girls basketball team scored in buckets as they posted an 80-37 road victory over Hershey.

Amelia Leister finished with a career 22 points.

Marissa Gingrich paced the Lady Huskies with a double-double of 26 points and 10 assists. She missed a triple double by three boards as she posted seven rebounds.

Maelyn Gingrich finished in double figures as well, posting 12 points.

Rounding out the top scorers for MIfflin County was Jacee Cunningham with a career high 11 points.

“Tonight was a good team win, as we had every girl contribute at both ends of the court, which is what we need going forward,” said MIfflin County coach Aaron Gingrich. “We were able to work on some new things offensively, and rest the starters the 4th quarter”

The Huskies improve to 12-8 on the season with the victory.

Next up for the Lady Huskies will be a road trip to Central Mountain Tuesday.
