Penns Valley boys out slugs Huntingdon

The Penns Valley Rams Varsity Baseball team nabbed the lead late in the game in a 10-8 victory over Huntingdon on Thursday. The game was tied at eight with the Rams batting in the top of the eighth when Owen Miller grounded out, scoring one run.

Penns Valley earned the victory despite allowing Huntingdon to score five runs in the sixth inning. Anthony Patti, Gavin Woodward, Eric Mykut, and Jack Foster powered the big inning with RBIs.

The Bearcats opened up scoring in the first inning. Ashton Steele doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Penns Valley knotted the game up at eight in the top of the seventh inning, when.

After the  Rams scored one run in the top of the third, Huntingdon answered with one of their own. Penns Valley scored when Colby Sweitzer doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. The Bearcats then answered when Ryan Marshall grounded out, scoring one run.

Ty Houtz led things off on the mound for the Rams. The righty lasted eight innings, allowing eight hits and eight runs while striking out two and walking zero.

Mykut was on the mound for Huntingdon. The pitcher lasted four and a third innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out five. Ryan Hack and Josh Hollibaugh entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one and two-thirds innings respectively.

Penns Valley tallied ten hits in the game. Sweitzer and Miles Brooks each collected multiple hits for the Rams. Sweitzer led Penns Valley with three hits in four at bats.

Huntingdon scattered eight hits in the game. Marshall and Steele all managed multiple hits for the Bearcats.
