Penns Valley hurler Taylor Bumgardner selected as nominee for Hometown Sports Centre County Girls’ Athlete of the Month of May

Congratulations to Taylor Bumgardner standout pitcher and batting phenom from Penns Valley as she is the Centre County Girls Hometown Sports Athlete for May.

Her list of achievements are as follows.

  • Broke the school single season HR record with 8
  • Broke the school career HR record with 16
  • Set the school Strikeout record with 556 (3rd in Centre County History)
  • Got her 100th hit vs Central Cambria 
  • Has a .520 Earned Run Average as a pitcher for the season (probably a school record)
  • Hit over .500 in May with 4 HRs
  • Pitched 9 scoreless innings vs BEA in an 11 inning marathon without giving up an earned run
