Penns Valley sets its sights on D6 championship, defuses Rockets

Despite allowing three runs in the fourth inning, the Penns Valley Lady Softball defeated Southern Huntingdon 8-4 on Thursday.  The Rockets offense in the inning was led by Haley Watkins and Gracie Rowe, who all drove in runs.

The Lady Rams opened up scoring in the second inning, when Scotty Dinges singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Taylor Bumgardner led things off on the rubber for Penns Valley. Bumgardner surrendered four runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out six and walking zero.

Ally Leidy was in the circle for the Rockets. The righty surrendered eight runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out nine.

The Lady Rams tallied two home runs on the day. Avery Dinges had a dinger in the second inning. Bumgardner had a four bagger in the second inning.

Madison Bowen, Dinges, Dinges, Bumgardner, Clara Brooks, Ellie Coursen, and Elle Dinges each collected one hit to lead Penns Valley.
