Penns Valley tops PO to continue its late season surge

PHILIPSBURG – Ram Tough!!!
The Penns Valley boys basketball team has been heating up lately, winning the last 3-of-4 coming into Monday’s road contest versus Philipsburg-Osceola.
Make that 4-of-5 as the Rams were able to notch a very clutch 56-45 victory over the Mounties.
Penns Valley finished with a trio of double digit scorers.
Zach Braucht lead the way with 15.
Aidan Culver was next with an 11-point effort.
Rounding out the double digit scorers for the Rams was Jackson Romig with10 points.
PO’s Jeremy Whitehead finished with a game-high 20-point effort.
Both teams started the game with a back-and-forth effort. In the end, the Mounties would take a very close 14-12 first stanza.
Going into the second, the Rams reversed the momentum, putting it on their side outscoring PO 10-5.
When the intermission came, Penns Valley led 22-19.
The Rams continued to stand tough in the third as they took the third quarter as well outscoring the Mounties 13-12.
Penns Valley continued to distance themselves in the fourth as it went on for a convincing 21-14 quarter.
