Penns Valley wins BEA tournament; Eagles place second

WINGATE – Penns Valley came into Saturday’s Bald Eagle tournament Saturday and came out victorious in both games they played in.

The Rams won in the opening contest over the opener and then kept the Bald Eagles at bay for the 4-0 championship run.

The Bald Eagle Area boys soccer team went 1-1 on the season as the finished second in the Eagles opening day tournament.

While opening up the season, Bald Eagle opened the day with a win over Saint Joseph’s Academy 1-0.

In the championship game, the Eagles lost to a very tough Penns Valley team 4-0.

Here are some highlights of the opener….

The Bellefonte boys had a rough start to the season, losing to Penns Valley in their opening game of the season.

In the consolation game, Saint Joseph topped the Red Raiders 4-0.

Girls soccer

The Bellefonte girls soccer team fell Saturday in a 4-1 loss to Hollidaysburg.

Hollidaysburg scored two goals in both periods to take the victory.

Notching the Red Raiders only goal of the night was sophomore Angelina Kasak.

Bellefonte goalie Keira Whitman had nine saves.
