Philipsburg-Osceola Lady Mounties Defeat Penns Valley

The Philipsburg-Osceola Lady Mounties were victorious against Penns Valley 4-1 on Monday.
A sacrifice fly by Alivia Bizzarri put Philipsburg-Osceola on the board in the bottom of the first.
Taylor Bumgardner walked, which helped Penns Valley tie the game at one in the top of the third.
A home run to center field by Bizzarri gave the Lady Mounties the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the fourth.
Bizzarri earned the win for the Lady Mounties. The right-handed pitcher surrendered three hits and one run over five innings, striking out five and walking two. Bumgardner took the loss for the Lady Rams . The pitcher went four innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on two hits, striking out eight and walking two.
Bizzarri drove the middle of the lineup, leading Philipsburg-Osceola with three runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-1 on the day. Bizzarri and Emily Gustkey were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Philipsburg-Osceola while hitting back-to-back. The Lady Mounties turned one double play in the game.
Leadoff hitter Elle Dinges led Penns Valley with two hits in two at bats. The Lady Rams were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Sydnie Dalton made the most plays with eight.
Next up for the Lady Mounties is a game at Central on Tuesday.
