Philipsburg-Osceola tops Huntingdon in a pitchers duel

Tuesday the Philipsburg-Osceola and Huntingdon baseball team found themselves in the middle of a pitching duel.

Both teams were strong on the hill Tuesday, but the Mounties defeated Huntingdon 3-1. The Philipsburg-Osceola pitchers allowed just seven hits to the Bearcats.

The Mounties got things started in the second inning when Denny Prestash singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Colby Hahn was the winning pitcher for PO. The ace allowed seven hits and one run over six and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. Parker White threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Josh Bryson took the loss for Huntingdon. The hurler surrendered three runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out two.

The Mounties totaled six hits. Hahn and Dave Meersand all managed multiple hits for Philipsburg. Meersand and Hahn each managed two hits to lead Mounties.

Huntingdon tallied seven hits. Eric Mykut and Anthony Patti all collected multiple hits for the Bearcats.
