PO boys bounce back to cruise to 36-point win over Curwensville

CURWENSVILLE – Coming off a nail biting loss to Bellefonte earlier in the week, the Philipsburg-Osceola boys came back in a flurry against Curwensville topping them 66-30 Wednesday night on the road.

Offensively, Ryan Whitehead spear headed the scoring barrage posting a 12-point effort while teammate Jacob De Simone also posted 12.

Ty Doyle also had a double-digit 11-point performance in the win.

Kaleb Richardson and Parker Matson both finished with nine.

The Mounties exploded onto the scene outscoring Curwensville 23-8 in the opening period.

Philipsburg-Osceola carries the torch into the second period as it kept its opponent to just nine while its offense tallied 17.

When the two went into the intermission, the Mounties were easily ahead 40-17.

PO got hot again in the second half while outscoring Curewnsville 21-7, putting the game into a mercy rule scenario.

In the final stanza, the Mounties clinched the win outscoring Curwensville 6-5 en route to the 36-point victory.

With the win, the Mounties inch closer to the .500 mark at 7-8.

In JV action, PO topped 48 Curwensville 48-28.
