PO’s Ryan Whitehead strikes out 15 en route to the win over BEA

The Philipsburg-Osceola baseball team picked up a home victory on Monday, defeating Bald Eagle Area 6-0.

Ryan Whitehead led the Mounties from the mound, going the distance and striking out 15 batters on the afternoon.

Noah Williamson took the loss for the Eagles but did finish with 11 strike outs.

Nathan Gutskey and teammate Dave Meersand both finished with two hits on the night for Philipsburg-Osceola while Bald Eagle’s Hayden Vaughn also had two.

Meersand finished with a game-high three RBIs while Jeremy Whitehead had one.

The Mounties scored their first run in the first and held on while Whitehead kept the Bald Eagle batters at bay for the shut out win.
