Pupo’s sweet swing leads MC to 11-9 win over CV

Sweet seven!

Jaxson Pupo led the offensive punch for the MIfflin County High School baseball team Thursday as he smashed a Grand Slam and 3-run roundtripper in the Huskies 11-9 win over Cumberland Valley.

On a cold and windy Thursday afternoon, the Huskies were able to heat it up on the offensive end.

A huge 11-run third inning, help lift the home team over a scrappy CV team that battled to the very end.

CV scored a run in the first, two in the second and then one in the top of the third, taking an early 4-0 advantage.

But that would be quickly erased with two swings in the inning from Pupo.

Others picking up hits in the game for the Huskies were Tyler Hunter, Marshall Maidens, Bryce Dobson, Rylan Bailey and Luke Lyter (2).

Conner Cherry picked up the win for the Huskies as he went four innings.

MIfflin County’s defense was able to thwart a late comeback attempt to seal the deal, 11-9.
