Records are meant to be broken; MC indoor track and field athletes post historic finishes

UNIVERSITY PARK – The MIfflin County Indoor Track and Field team traveled once again to the Campus of Penn State University Thursday, participating in the State College Duals 2. It would be a night where school records were set.

Leading the way for the Huskies were Dillon Wert, Josiah Sechler and Kylee Cubbison.

All set school records Cubbison took the new school record in the 3000-meter run and a second place finish of 10:30.98. The time was a state qualifying time.

Cubbison notched the win in the one mile with a record time of 5:07.19, also qualifying her for state competition.

On the boys’ Sechler  set a new record in the Long Jump, posting a leap of 21 3 1/2″

He also finished fourth in the triple with a fourth place finish of 40’ 11 /34”.

He finished his day with a 16th place in the 400-meter run with a time of 56.78.

Wert notched the record in the Triple Jump with a leap of 42 11 1/2″.

Wert also had a strong 11th place finish in the 60-meter with a time of 7.59.

In the boys relay teams, MIfflin County4x400 relay team finished 9th notching a time of 4:13.54.

In the 4×200 relay race the Huskies finished 7th with a time of 1:42.34.

In the boys 60-meter run,  18th Braden Schaeffer finished 18th with a time of 7.93.

Schaeffer finished 16th in the 200-meter run as well with a time of 25.81.

Caden Kauffman had a strong showing as well, finishing with a first and third place finish.

In the boys high jump Kauffman hit the top spot with a jump of 6’ 0”.

In the long jump Kauffman finished third with a launch of 20’ 3 3/4”.

Tanner Ferguson finished fifth in 60-meter hurdles with a mark of 9.54.

Cole Chilson finished with a 10.09 in the 60-meter hurdles finishing in 11th place.

In the boys 1-mile run Cody Foltz finished 18th with a time of 5:05.77 While Max Laudermilch placed 22nd at 5:27.11.

In Boys shot put action, Travis Renninger finished with a throw of 38’ 8 3/4”.

Finishing in 29th in the 800-meter run was Isaac Parks finishing with a 2:19.91.

In the 3000-meter run Chris Royer finished with a fifth place time of 9:47.60 while Conrad Coffey finished 10th at 10:01.1.

Finish fourth with a throw of 40’ 8” in the boys shot put was Alexander Price.

Rounding out the day in the Boys high jump, Ty Small finished 9th with a leap of 5’ 0”.

Long distance runner Addy Parson also finished in top 10 in two of her events as well.

In the Mile Run Parson finished 8th with a time of 5:42.63.

She finished 6th In the 3000-meter run posting a time of 11:25.18.

Teammate Lily Yoder finished in the top 10 in all three of her events

In the Girls 400-meter run Yoder placed 5th with a mark of 1:04.14.

She placed 6th in the long jump with a top leap of 15’ 7 3/4”

Rounding out her events Yoder placed 8th in the triple jump with a 32’ 7” jump.
