LEWISTOWN –
Wednesday night the Mifflin County volleyball team clashed against Lower Dauphin at the Mifflin County High School on Pink out night in the Huskies Gym.
Mifflin County started the match off on top with a 1-0 advantage but that lead would slowly diminish into Falcons’ favor.
Lower Dauphin had all around good performances where they beat Mifflin County in three straight sets.
Both teams struggled, swapping points on serves but were able to bounce back. When it came to points Brynlee Holland was able to hold her own end stealing points from the Lady Huskies on serves.
Mifflin County also had good performances despite the loss. They battled in the first set down 15-9. Kathryn Hartzler played a major role in helping the Huskies claw their way back into the first set but things would slowly get away from them.
Mifflin County was led by libero Rylie Kahley she showed solid effort in the loss when the Lady Huskies needed a big play she contributed Leah Hartlzer was also solid despite the loss.
“We had alot of young girls coming in stepping into big positions.Rylie stepped in and did a great job playing libero,” said Mifflin County Head Coach Danielle Napikoski.
“Emily did a great job switching back into the left back position and we definitely had some ups and downs but we need to get more consistency. The passing wasn’t there our energy wasn’t there and we need to make sure that we’re controlling those things and control the things that we can control but we didn’t come out with the energy and effort today.”
Mifflin County also had production off the bench Kahlen McCracken earned herself a point hitting it where defenders were not Emmaleigh Harmon was a key contributor as well but again the Huskies would not back down they would make things close but they would fall in the second set 25-16
Mifflin County would be held to just nine points in the final set as the Lady Falcons cruised to a three straight sets victory over the Lady Huskies.
