Reed: Prediction of MIfflin County’s Friday contest versus Shippensburg

Dominic Reed 3-1 in predictions this season

The( 1-3 )Mifflin County Huskies welcome the (4-0) Shippensburg Greyhounds
to Mitchell Field on Mini Thon night to raise money for childhood cancer kickoff is slated for 7:00.
The Greyhounds come into this game unbeaten and can be a threat in every category with a very well coached football team head coach Eric Foust has done a great job getting this team ready to go out and compete every week.
The Huskies come into this contest looking to find their identity Mifflin County entering this game is on a three game losing streak.Mifflin County has been outscored 116-47 in their last three games.Mifflin County has failed to get much going in their last two games only putting up 13 points in two games Mifflin County fell to Mechanicsburg 40-6 then traveled to Hershey falling to the Trojans 35-7.Tonight’s game against the Greyhounds will be another test of many because things won’t get any easier for the Purple and White.
Shippensburg dismantled Palmyra last week 55-7 this is a game where Mifflin County has yet to match these kinds of numbers when the Huskies have faced teams this season the only success was when they traveled to Central Mountain having there way with Fletcher Wilson tying the school record throwing four touchdowns since then Mifflin County has not been putting things together the Huskies failed to finish in week two against Northern giving up a 27-7 lead later falling to the Polar Bears 41-34 that was the last time we have seen anything really spark on offense or any kind of spark.
By the numbers
The Greyhounds have to the advantage in the run game senior running back Janye Statum averages 143.5 yards a game. Mifflin County only averages 31.8 Mifflin County rely on Brice Rishel the Huskies use Josh Maldonado and freshman running back Jaxon Strohecker,Brandon Kauffman also has been used as well. Kauffman scored the only team’s touchdown in the home opener against Mechanicsburg on a drive led by Chase Hartung to cash in for points.
Mifflin County will have to be better upfront with a defense that has talent led by stars like Avery Aurand,Gavin Herrington,Hunter Tipton and Peyton Kearns, cornerback Landon Haigh and safety Cyrell Green have both come up big.
Mifflin County comes into this game with the upperhand in the passing game Huskies total 139.5 yards a game if the Huskies want a shot top pull off the upset they will have to be consistent. The offensive line will have to do a better job blocking for their man behind center. The Greyhounds average 80.5 yards through the air.
ON Defense
Mifflin County has got good production from Haigh Green Harrington, Adan Daubert and Jordyn Daily and the big boys Tipton and Kearns. Mifflin County will hope to use that to their advantage against a very good Shippensburg team the Greyhounds hoping to prove that they can test this defense and walk out of MItchell Field sitting at 5-0.
Special Teams
Mifflin County will want to forget last week’s performance in special teams senior punter/kicker had two punts block one resulting in a scoop and score.Mifflin County two way player Dupree Reed had a big game in the return game Reed on the season has 87 yards in kick return yardage this season.Shippensburg’s only points came from a kick return touchdown against Palmyra in the 47-13 win.
Key points vs Greyhounds in Special teams :
Get Reed going in the return game
Stay clean in the punting and kicking game avoid blocks
Need for Speed with Green and Reed
Dom’s Impact Players:
Janye Statum QB
Jaden Hines DB/RB
Statum has found the endzone six times this season expect him to make an impact in the game.
Hines has 30 total points this season he plays well on offense and defense expect him to make an impact in the game Hines has five total touchdowns with one interception.
Dom’s Impact Players Huskies
Cyrell Green WR
Landon Haigh WR
Gavin Herrington DE
Adan Daubert DL
Hunter Tipton DL
All of these players listed can make plays around the field in tonight’s game there will be a lot of chances to make tackles if the Huskies play it right. Daubert has been getting after the quarterback a lot this season; he has really been a force at his position. Tipton has also been chasing down the quarterback Harrington has been great Haigh and Green have been the Huskies top receivers.
Dominic Reed’s Game Prediction
Mifflin County Huskies vs Shippensburg Greyhounds
This Greyhounds team is really good even though the Huskies have made plays on defense they haven’t been able to get much of anything going on offense.  Highschool football games it’s very rare for a defense to win a football game you have to be good all around. The Huskies have been underperforming this season its asking to much for this Huskies defense and offense to match what the Greyhounds do for four quarters. I’m going with the Ship to win over the Dawgs.
38-7 Shippensburg win
