Road Warriors!! Lady Huskies roll to road win over the Black Knights

Chalk up another win for the Lady Huskies.

Friday, the MIfflin County Huskies girls basketball team went on the road to do battle with Palmyra.

Despite the long road trip, the Huskies weren’t phased as they dropped the Black Knights 56-42.

Marissa Gingrich had the hot hand on the evening posting a 24-point effort.

Teammate Bri Bodtorf also finished strong as she tallied 13 in a winning effort.

Palmyra’s Zoe Smith finished with 16 while teammate Mallory Margut had 10.

The game started as a close contest, the Huskies outscored the Lady Knights 15-13. Leading the scoring for MIfflin County was Gingrich with seven points.

Mifflin County took advantage of its first quarter momentum and started to add to its lead in the second outscoring Palmyra 12-7 to take a 27-20 advantage going into the intermission.

Defenses took center stage in the third period as MIfflin County’s defense held Palmyra to six while its offense scored nine.

In the final stanza, both offenses exploded with the Lady Huskies taking the period scoring by a 20-16 margin en route to the victory.

In the JV contest, the Huskies were just as successful, winning 39-31.

Mifflin County’s Jalee Bodtorf finished with 14.
