Schifano takes her talents to Morehead St.

Taking it to the next level.
Mifflin County senior Amber Schifano recently decided to take her rifle shooting talents to the next level as a member of the Morehead State University Eagles shooting team.
“I have recruited Amber to Morehead State. I believe that she is academically prepared for the rigors of college life as a student athlete,” Eagles coach Alan Joseph said. “She possesses the necessary marksmanship skills and personality traits which will contribute to the continued success of this team.”
Her new team competes in the Western Intercollegiate Rifle Conference where they go up against Mississippi, Memphis, VMI,Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Akron and Murray State.
Last year the Eagles were ranked 17th in the NCAA in team Rifle, nationally.
Her bio for rifle is a long and distinguished one.
She was a member of the Palmyra Rife team where she competed in Olympic Style Precision rifle and Air Rifle.
He also participated in the same events as a member of the Alexandria Junior Rifle team.
She was a Mifflin County 4-H shooting Sports Grand Champion in archery, rifle, air rifle, shotgun and muzzleloader.
Amber also finished First at the 4-H National Rifle shooting competition in three position precision rifle, fifth place team in the nation, and 13th individual in the nation.
The senior also took her skills overseas to compete globally at England’s Bisley International Rifle Shooting Competition. She received a silver medal in the sprint and shoot match and a bronze in the three position air rifle match.
She also got the title of distinguished expert in the NRA awards program which is the highest small bore award that can be received.
She also has been a standout in the academic field and other sports.
She was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Historian for Class officers.
Also she was in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Spanish, Ski Club, History Club, Student Council, Technology Student Association team.
Was a member of the track and field team, field hockey.
She was a student of the month and most important was the 2017-2018 homecoming queen.
