HERSHEY- They continue to shine!

The Mifflin County Boys Varsity team finished as runners-up at PIAA Foundation Invitational. Carter Smith wins once again as teammate Reese Cubbison places (19th). Hart Oden was runner-up in JV race.

Mifflin County came in second out of 47 teams only to fall to the North Penn team who won the meet.

Smith finished with a winning time of 15:53.3. Cubbison was next at 19th with a time of 16:55.3.

“I’m really happy with our performance today. There were 47 teams in the AAA race alone, and most we don’t see during the regular season,” said Alex Monroe. “We knew North Penn was going to be difficult to beat, but we were in the conversation today and that’s all I really wanted out of it. It’s even more important that the boys saw the course and gained experience on it, because it won’t be the last time they race here. We are right on schedule with where I’d like them to be at this point in the season.”

Hoyt Rodenbaugh followed with a 22nd finish of 17:04.4.

Mifflin County’s Maximus Zajac-Bargas finished in 45th place with a mark of 17:30.3.

Teammate Wyatt Kauffman was next with a 46th place time of 17:32.7.

Koy Aurand and Aidan Scavitti rounded out the Huskies’ runners with times of 18:43.4 and 18:53.7.

“Between varsity and JV, I’d love to mention every single runner honestly. They all put their best foot forward. But a highlight for me was seeing Wyatt Kauffman return to this course healthy; after a very difficult injury at the state meet a year ago,” said Monroe. “He has been preparing for redemption all year. We return to competition away Tuesday against Central Dauphin and Central Dauphin East.”
