Southern Huntingdon drops East Juniata late

The East Juniata boys list a heartbreaker Saturday against Southern Huntingdon, 48-45.

Tanner Barth led the way offensively for the Tigers with a 21-point effort.

Wayne Dressler rounded out the East Juniata leading scorers with seven.

Southern Huntingdon took the opening period, outscoring the Tigers 14-4.

But in the second quarter, East Juniata tightened its defense and took the second quarter by a 15-10 margin.

Going into the intermission, the Rockets led 24-19.

The Tigers took the lead after they posted a 13-5 effort in the third.

Heading into the final stanza, East Juniata led 34-29.

However, Southern would book end the contest, outscoring East Juniata 19-13.
