St. Joseph boys basketball falls to United

The Saint Joseph’s Boys Basketball team took to the road to take on United on Monday evening.  The game started with the Wolfpack jumping out to a 16-13 first quarter lead, behind 11 points from Brendan Scanlon. The Lions put together a 21-10 quarter in the second however, and took a 34-26 lead into the break.  In the third, the game tightened up as the Wolfpack won the quarter by two, behind two three-point field goals from Noah Straub and one from Dan Dawson.  The Wolfpack closed the gap to 2 points in the 4th on a driving Dawson layup on a feed from Scanlon.  Under two minutes to play the Wolfpack had a few open looks to take the lead, but it was not to be.  The Lions put the game away with two free throws with just four seconds left on the clock.
Saint Joseph’s fell to 2-17 on the season.  Scanlon led all scorers with 29 points, while Straub added 12 and Dawson 9.
The Wolfpack are off until Monday, Feb 3rd, when they host Southern Huntingdon.
