Monday evening State College suffered a disappointing loss in a hard-fought contest with nonconference Greenwood.
The first half saw an even and aggressive back-and-forth action that concluded with a scoreless conclusion to two periods. Greenwood got on the board with a goal at the midpoint in the third period when Allie Howell tipped in a shot from the right by Rebekah Brinser. Greenwood scored again at 12:27 in the fourth period when Jordan Stroup put in an unassisted reversed stick flip from the left.

State College mounted a furious onslaught in the fourth period but for naught do to a very strong effort by Greenwood goalie, Ashlin Bucker, who repelled 10 penalty corners with a total of 12 saves for the night.

Next game State College takes on Chambersburg Area H.S., at Chambersburg, Tuesday October 11, JV 4:00 PM, Varsity 5:30 PM.
