Photos by Jeff Shomo

State College got off the bus ready to be the spoilers and never looked back.  State College went to work early tallying two corners and 3 shots in the first five minutes. Heading Into the second quarter, the Little Lions kept the pressure on the Rams. Maddie Shomo scored just three minutes into the quarter off a Phebe Herlocher centering pass.  The Little Lions’ passing game was on tonight. It was especially highlighted for the Lions second goal. Phebe Herlocher again centered a pass, this time to Sydney O’Donnell who passed to Maddie Shomo ready to tip the ball past the Ram’s goalie. Maddie Shomo nearly had a hatrick, when she hit the post off a rebound shot in the third quarter.  State College played with poise and possession throughout the game. The Ram’s snuck one late goal in with 1:36 left to go in the game.  Ultimately State College’s Team effort was valiant and relentless. The team played together and was strong, not showing any signs of fatigue from playing three games in three days,  nor that they were in an overtime game less than 24 hours ago.
