State College girls picks up hard fought 1-0 win over Chambersburg

CHAMBERSBURG – It was a pitchers delight!
The State College softball team did battle in a tough contest against Chambersburg Monday.
Offensively, the Little Lions collected only two hits on the day but they made them count, picking up the 1-0 Mid-Penn Conference victory.
Zia Bodner went the distance on the mound for State College striking out nine in the victory.
The Trojans scattered seven hits in a losing effort.
Kylee Miller took the loss as she struck out eight and allowed two hits and one run.
After a six-and-a-half innings of scoreless play, the Little Lions made their base running count when they needed it.
Maddy Burkey got the inning started with a single. Olivia McTavish reached on an error. On the play, Burkey motored around to score the game winning and only run.
