State College Little Lions Come Up Short Against Selinsgrove

State College fell to Selinsgrove 7-2 on Monday.

Selinsgrove opened the scoring in the second after Brennan Kline grounded out, scoring one run.

The Seals scored five runs on one hit in the top of the third inning. Tucker Teats singled, scoring two runs, Gino Pighetti induced Griffin Parker to hit into a fielder’s choice, but two runs scored, and a steal of home scored one run.

Joshua Domaracki earned the win for Selinsgrove. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and two runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out seven and walking two. Pighetti took the loss for the Little Lions. The starting pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, giving up six runs (two earned) on three hits, striking out three and walking five.

Jack Coleman and Austin Harter were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for State College. Michael Powell, Zach Mazer, Coleman, and Harter each collected one hit for the Little Lions. State College Varsity Little Lions turned one double play in the game.

Teats drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Seals with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Selinsgrove had patience at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game. Mason Richter and Owen Santiago led the team with two free passes each.
