Strong start leads Lady Tigers to win over PO

Two in 24.

In less than 24 hours, the East Juniata girls basketball team chalked up its second win.

Saturday, the Lady Tigers topped Philipsburg-Osceola 36-19.

Leading the way for the Tigers was Alyssa Robinson with 11 points.

Following up Robinson’s performance was Cypress Feltman with seven.

Philipsburg was led offensively by Camden Potter who notched 10 points.

In the first quarter, East Juniata came out with the hot hand posting 16 while its defense held the Mounties to just three points.

Feltman led the way with six.

Though the offense slowed a little, East Juniata won the quarter outscoring PO 9-2.

Going into the halftime, East Juniata held a 25-5 advantage.

The Mounties defense helped their team gain some ground on the Lady Tigers lead as they outscored them 5-0.

In the final stanza, both teams were in a battle but in the end East Juniata took the period and the game, outscoring them 11-9 en route to the victory.
