2017 Summer rundown for the Juniata Valley Striders Youth Athletes

Five Juniata Valley Striders Youth athletes won Mid-Atlantic USATF Championships Saturday and Sunday in Philadelphia. Brayden Harris won the 13-14 Boys 1500 and 1500, Noah Shepherd won the 13-14 Boys 800, Quentin Houtz won the 8 & Under Boys 1500, Layla Fetzer won the 8 & Under Girls Mini-Javelin and Justice Sheaffer won the 11-12 Girls Aero-Javelin.These athletes and other top 6 finishers advance to the Mid-East USATF Regional at Rochester, New York July 6-9, 2017.

Juniata Valley Strider’s Brayden Harris advanced in the 1500 meter semi-final at the USATF National Championship in Lawrence, Kansas winning his heat with a pr of 4:15.11. He now moves into the Saturday final in the 3000 meter and the Sunday final in the 1500.

Taylor Ciccolini has just given the Juniata Valley Striders their 3rd National Championship Medal. Taylor placed 3rd in the 13-14 Girls Pole Vault with a jump of 9′ 5 3/4″. Taylor and her sister, Skylar, will now compete in the Javelin Finals on Thursday afternoon going for two more medals.

Skylar Ciccolini has just won the AAU Track and Field National Championship in the 15-16 Girls Javelin throwing 47.43 Meters (155′ 7″) breaking the AAU National Record of 149’1″. This is the 4th National Medal for the Juniata Valley Striders in National Track & Field Championships this week.

 Taylor Ciccolini finished 3rd in the 14 Girls Age Group Javelin at the AAU National Championships today with a throw of 31.95 Meters (104′ 10″) to finish the Juniata Valley Striders participation in the 2017 National Track and Field Championships.
