State College dominated offensively during almost the entire first quarter, though a stingy Cedar Cliff defense prevented any goals. State College’s tenacity paid off at 10:45 in the second quarter when captain Hannah Garlin scored a lovely goal after an Olivia Miller pass.

In the third quarter, State College scored a goal during a penalty corner. An excellent insert by Hanna Carlin was followed by a nimble sleight-of-hand assist flick by Ella Tambroni to Lanie Herlocher who scored with a hard shot to the back of the goal. The final State College score occurred at 9:19 in the fourth quarter when Maddy Shomo made a well-placed tip in off a shot by Ella Tambroni. This action was followed by an aggressive surge by Cedar Cliff, and a penalty corner goal at 8:33 by Claire Markiey, assisted by Jordynn Noll.

Cedar Cliff goalie Kelsey Shires had an impressive 25 saves on the day.

Next game State College hosts Penn Manor on Memorial Field, Saturday September 10,  JV 12:00 PM, Varsity 2:00 PM.
