Terrace offense creates havoc on Cyclones

The Terrace Tigers Midget team came ready to play Sunday afternoon in the Central Keystone Midget championships.

Offensively, the Tigers rolled out 48 points over a small Derry Decatur team that battled to the very end before falling short.

Terrace got the kick to start and wasted little time putting points on the board.

After starting at its own 29, it took Terrace just 7-plays to reach the end zone.

Quarterback Zakria Kauffman found Bryce Slemons for the 16-yard TD reception. With successful extra point, Terrace led 7-0.

Derry Decatur had a hard time with the faster Tigers’ defense and had its second possession go three and out.

On the punt return, Terrace’s Gavin Herrington ran it back for a 25-yard punt return.

On the kick off, the Tigers picked up a fumble to get the ball back. However, two plays later, the Cyclones returned the favor taking a fumble back.

But the defense of the Tigers once again held the Derry Decatur offense, forcing them to punt once more.

It was De Ja Vue  as the Tigers got the same results. This time Cyrel Green ran it back for a 40-yard punt return, upping the Tigers lead to 21-0.

Going into the second quarter Terrace started it off where they started.

Things continue to go against the spunky Cyclones as they went for it on fourth and long, giving Terrace back the ball.

It took just a play for the score to change as Raul Rodriquez scored on a 14-yard end around.

Defensively, the Tigers forced another turnover minutes later when Slemons intercepted the ball for yet another touchdown, upping the “Yellow and Black” attack to 35-0.

Terrace would score late in the second to go up 42-0 at the intermission. That touchdown came from Herrington.

With the clock continuously running in the second half. Terrace added just one more score before the game ended. That came from Jack Adair, ending the game a 48-0 contest.
