The Juniata Cross Country team finishes out the season on a high note at the District 6 Championships

Juniata Senior James Hazard led the Indians with a 17th place finish in the AA race running a time of 17:51.1.  Micah Fausey came in next for the Indians in 18th place running a personal best of 18:22.7.  He was followed by Tim Kelly in 27th place running a personal best also in 18:53.6.  Finishing out the Indians roster was Brody Powell in 35th – 19:47.9, Yadiel Nieves-Aguirre in 39th place – 20:27.2, Noah Sheaffer in 50th place – 21:37.2, and Kaleb Louder in 57th place – 27:39.6.  The boys finished 5th out of 8 teams in the AA race.  Coach Jeff Miller said “Most of the boys finished out the season running personal best or season best.  James was sitting in state qualifying position at the 2 mile mark, but had too slow with stomach issues.”

Junior Emily Houtz led the Indians with a 25th place in the AA race running a season best of 22:43.4.  The rest of the girls roster ran personal best times.  Elizabeth Gaisior finished in 41st place with a time of 25:28.3.  Katie Hart was 48th place – 26:33.5, Rachel Fisher in 49th place – 26:51.6, and Peyton Sheaffer in 50th place – 28:19.4.  The girls finished in 7th place out of 7 teams in the AA race.  Coach Jeff Miller said “The girls came out to run today.  They all ran personal best or season best.  Many dropping over 1:00 off their best times.  That is all you can ask for.  They are a great group of girls and it has been an honor to work with them.”
