The Juniata Cross Country team split wins at Susquenita on Thursday
The girls won over Susquenita 25-32 while the boys took a close loss to Susquenita 29 – 27. The girls were led by Junior Emily House placing 2nd overall with a time of 26:41. She was followed by Kierstyn Fogle in 4th place with a time of 27:34. Rounding out the Indians’ roster were Rachel Fisher in 8th place – 34:06, Elizabeth Gaisior in 9th place – 34:10, Peyton Sheaffer in 10th place – 34:14 and Katie Hart in 11th place – 34:38. Upper Dauphin and Halifax also competed, but didn’t have scoring teams. Upper Dauphin’s Maddin Grow won the race with a time of 26:29.
The boys were led by Senior James Hazard in 2nd place with a time of 20:48. He was followed by Micah Fausey in 4th place with a time of 21:35. Rounding out the Indians’ roster were Brody Powell in 5th place – 22:10, Tim Kelly in 8th place – 22:33, Yadiel Nieves-Aguirre in 13th place – 24:29, and Noah Sheaffer in 20th place – 28:09. Upper Dauphin, Halifax, and Harrisburg Christian also completed, but didn’t have enough runners to score as a team. Susquenita’s Michael Singley won the boys race with a time of 19:36. Both the girls and boys cross country teams will travel to Hershey on Saturday to compete in the PIAA Foundation Invitational held on the State Championship course.
