Third-Inning Burst Enough To Lead Milton Juniata

Milton defeated Juniata 15-2 on Monday thanks in part to 13 runs in the third inning.

Milton High got on the board in the first inning after a dropped third strike scored one run.

The Lasy Indians jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Regan Lowrey homered to center field, and Ashley Piper walked, each scoring one run.

Milton High flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring 13 runs on five hits to take the lead, 15-2.

Destiny Yohn took the loss for Juniata Varsity Indians. The hurler went two and one-third innings, surrendering 11 runs (six earned) on four hits, striking out two and walking eight.

Lowrey led Juniata Varsity Indians with one run batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-2 on the day. Victoria Moore, Alexi Deppen, Sophia Smith, and Lowery each collected one hit for the Lady Indians. Savannah Marshall paced Juniata with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game.

Overall, Milton had patience at the plate, tallying 10 walks for the game. Milton High turned two double plays in the game.

Juniata welcomes Susquenita on Friday for their next game.
