Tigers win battle of Reedsville over Cardinals

The Bats were hot for the Reedsville Tigers in the win over the Reedsville Cardinals 16-5, Monday night.

It was a big night for Caelob Phillips hitting a bases loaded triple which he ended up scoring on due to an error. This occurred in the 6th inning.

In the first inning,  the Tigers score one off of a wild pitch, after a few miscues the Tigers went up 2-0.

The Reedsville Cardinals battked back with three stolen bases to get one run off of a liner to to left field, 2-1.

The Tigers Caeleb Phillips roped a double with a shot out to left field.

He advanced on a hit to shallow right center giving Carter Smith a double and an RBI making it 6-1at the end of four innings.

With the bases loaded with one out, and sporting a full count, and Smith strikes out Gabe Getz for the Cardinals while Easton Zook drove in two runs with a single to the gap in center, cutting it to 6-3.

Tigers then toss a wild pitch that advanced the runners to second and third, and a second wild pitch scored another run inching things closer at 6-4.

With the Tigers up at the end of the top of the 5th inning and the Cardinals fighting back, they posted three more singles, and a walk bringing in four more RBIs bringing the score 12-4 at the end of  five.

In the bottom of the inning, a ground ball bounced past the second baseman’s’ glove to give the Cardinals a run in the 5th inning, bringing the score to 12-5.

With the score still holding at 12-5 going into the bottom of the 6th, the Tigers’ bats were still hot for the group. They posted a  single, double, single, triple, with the first four batters, which brings the game to the highlight of the game.

tJamieson Parkes clears the bases on a triple and scored on a Cardinals miscue, making it a 16-5 contest for the Tigers,  Smith triples for the second triple in the inning for the Tigers.

The Tigers took the contest up 16-5.

It was a good experience game for both teams.
