Two for two! MC 15s continue its March through Mid-Atlantic Regionals

Another day and another victory for the Mifflin County 15-year old Babe Ruth All-Star team continues to roll as they defeated Rutherford, New Jersey 13-2 to notch their second victory at the Babe Ruth Mid-Atlantic Regionals Friday in Scranton.

Leading the way in the contest was Doug Weaver as he finished with three hits.

Landon Eichhorn pounded out two hits and two RBIs while teammate Ryan also had two hits on the day.

John Paul Pannizzo walked twice.

Garrett Leitzel picked up the win as he went four innings and eight strikeouts.

Teammate Chris Moon struck out three Rutherford players in his turn on the mound.

The Mc 15s scored first as they went into the third inning leading 1-0.

In the fourth, the offense continued to roll as it had notched a 4-0 advantage.

It wouldn’t stop for the Mifflin County as they doubled their previous output, taking an 8-2 advantage in the sixth.

Mifflin County would add five runs in the final two innings to capture the 13-2 win and give Leitzel the victory and themselves one step closer to a championship nod.

The team will be back in action Saturday at 10 am.
