Victoria Moore Drives 6 Runners Home In Juniata Victory Over Greenwood

Victoria Moore drove in six runs on two hits to lead the Juniata Indians past Greenwood 20-3 on Wednesday. Moore singled in the third scoring four, sacrifice bunted in the first scoring one, and singled in the third scoring one.
The Indians won thanks in part to 11 runs in the third inning. Moore singled, scoring one run, Savannah Marshall doubled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, an error scored one run, Riley Lyter singled, scoring two runs, and Moore singled, scoring four runs.
Greenwood opened the scoring in the first after Lill Kessler singled, scoring two runs.
The Wildcats added one run in the second after Kam Walton singled to center field.
Juniata flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring eight runs on five hits to take the lead, 9-3. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in four.
Destiny Yohn earned the win for Juniata . The hurler allowed three hits and three runs over three innings, striking out five and walking four. Kenz Devore took the loss for Greenwood. The pitcher went two and one-third innings, giving up 15 runs (six earned) on eight hits, striking out none and walking five.
The Lady Indians collected 11 hits in the game. Moore and Alexi Deppen each collected two hits for Juniata . Regan Lowrey led Juniata Varsity Indians with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Lowrey stole two bases. The Indians were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Deppen had the most chances in the field with six.
Kessler drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Lady Wildcats with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Walton, Nicole Herr, and Kessler each collected one hit for Greenwood.
Juniata will travel to East Juniata for their next game on Friday.
