Wednesday result: Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers Earn Walk-Off Win Over the Bedford Bisons

It came down to the wire on Wednesday, as Philipsburg-Osceola grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 8-7, over the Bedford Bisons. The game was tied at seven in the bottom of the seventh when Lucas Peterson drew a walk, scoring one run.
The Mountaineers rallied for the victory despite trailing 6-1 in the fifth.
Bedford got on the board in the second inning after Gabe Taylor hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
The Bisons committed an error, which helped the Mountaineers tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.
In the top of the fourth inning, Bedford went back into the lead after Owen Taylor tripled to right field, Taylor singled to center field, and Owen Horne singled to center field, each scoring one run.
Philipsburg-Osceola jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning after Archer Baughman walked, Parker Lamb walked, Bedford Bisons committed an error, and Peterson walked, each scoring one run.
Nick DeSimone earned the win for Philipsburg-Osceola. The reliever gave up three hits and one run over two innings, striking out two and walking none. Ty Decker took the loss for the Bisons. The hurler went one and two-thirds innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on one hit, striking out two and walking four. Peterson stepped on the mound first for the Mountaineers. The starter gave up 12 hits and six runs over five innings, striking out one and walking one. Taylor started on the mound for Bedford Bisons. The hurler surrendered six hits and four runs (two earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out none and walking none.
Sam McDonald and Baughman were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for the Mountaineers. Baughman went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Philipsburg-Osceola Varsity Mountaineers in hits. Baughman stole two bases.
Bedford Bisons collected 15 hits in the game. Owen Tedrow and Decker each collected three hits for Bedford Bisons. Taylor and Taylor were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Bedford Bisons. Joey Huxta and Horne each collected multiple hits for Bedford Bisons. Tedrow stole two bases. Bedford Bisons stole four bases in the game.
The Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers will travel to Penns Valley Area Varsity Rams for their next game on Thursday.
