Wednesday results: Powerful Pitching Performance From Taylor Bumgardner Carries Penns Valley  Lady Rams Past Juniata Valley Lady Hornets

Taylor Bumgardner struck out 11 batters as the starting pitcher led Penns Valley past Juniata Valley Lady Hornets  3-0 on Tuesday at Juniata Valley High School. Bumgardner gave up four hits and zero runs over seven innings while walking none.

Both teams were strong in the circle. Penns Valley pitchers struck out 11, while Juniata Valley sat down 15.

The Lady Rams opened the scoring in the first after Bumgardner singled, scoring one run.

Penns Valley added one run in the second after Elle Dinges singled to center field following a 6-pitch at-bat.

Bumgardner hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the fifth for the Penns Valley .

Bumgardner drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Lady Rams with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 2-for-3 on the day. Dinges led Penns Valley with three hits in four at bats from the leadoff position.

The Lady Rams will travel to Hollidaysburg Varsity Softball for their next game on Thursday.
